California is Heading in the Wrong Direction

Over the last 10 years, there has been an increase in homelessness, destructive wildfires, increased costs for medical care, and skyrocketing energy costs. We can’t continue along this path or middle class Californians will continue to suffer. Our district needs a voice in the capital that will have an impact on the majority.

Homelessness

The number of unhoused people in California has increased every year for the past 10 years. Children, students, the mentally ill, seniors, and other groups represent a multi-faceted problem that a “one-size-fits-all” solution will not address.

Water Rights and Conservation

We need leadership that opposes the contamination of clean water and sees water as a scarce resource worth protecting.

Transparency in Government Spending

Transparency promotes accountability. We should all demand an annual itemized statement on how the State has used our tax money.

Wildfire Mitigation

The Camp Fire in Paradise could have been avoided. The fire that destroyed our family property could have been avoided. Negligent practices by PG&E coupled with a lack of attention to our forests created the perfect storm. We lost the forests we’ve all been trying to protect. Without vision there is no prevention.

Education Reform

The university system and K-12 need reform. We’ve lost our way in education and allowed too much bureaucracy to enter the classroom.

Self-Reliance

Our independence should not be impeded by the government. We should not be penalized for creating our own energy, growing our own food and accessing our own water - even collecting rainwater.

Small Business Support

Small businesses are the heart of our communities and represent the spirit of our country. Small businesses are the “middle class” of our economy and should be incentivized and subsidized - much like agriculture.
